This week, I have had the opportunity to spend time in classrooms and meet many of the wonderful students here at Glenmore Road. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the enthusiasm for learning that fills every corner of the school. It is abundantly clear that Glenmore Road is a place where both students and staff are committed to making the most of every opportunity for growth and development. I have been particularly touched by the kindness of the students who have taken the time to introduce themselves to me in the playground and offer their assistance in helping me find my way around the school.
In closing, although my time here is brief, lasting only for the remainder of this week, I look forward to continuing to support the great work happening across the school.
Wishing you all a wonderful remainder of the week!

Photo day - Thursday 10 April.
Please go to The School Photographer website or use the QR code to view packages and to order individual and sibling photos.
Please remind your child to look neat and tidy on photo day and to be wearing the correct school uniform.
We are commencing our Peer Support program in Week 7, Thursday 13 March. The whole school participates for 40 minutes, twice a term.
Two Peer Leaders from Stage 3 facilitate a group of 5-6 younger students, who work together on several structured activities.
Why teach optimism?
Thinking optimistically is a key protective factor which enhances student resilience and provides a buffer against challenging situations. Students who can set a single challenging event into a wider, more positive context tend to cope better with such challenges.
An optimistic outlook protects students from dangers of depression and anxiety. It also provides a greater level of enjoyment in life. Many students experience negative thoughts that rob them of the opportunity to participate in life as fully as possible - the thoughts focus on what they cannot be/do.
Like any habits, thought patterns are difficult to control and students need to develop strategies to help them become more aware of what they say to themselves and how to turn negative messages into positive messages. The greater their commitment, the more likely students are to make lasting change.

Kids Giving Back
Huge congratulations to the following students who were among 1170 young changemakers who contributed to making over 6500 meals, breakfast boxes, snack packs, and care packs for vulnerable communities across Sydney. They also wrote thoughtful, encouraging messages to be shared with those in need.
Their kindness, leadership, and willingness to serve truly embody the values of generosity and community spirit. Their efforts have made a real difference, and we are incredibly proud of them!
