Book Week Bliss: A Day of Imagination, Inspiration, and Wakakirri Magic
What an incredible Book Week celebration we had today! Our students and staff came together to celebrate the joy of reading with creative costumes, engaging storytelling sessions, and fun book-themed activities.
It was wonderful to see our Wakakirri performance come to life at school—our students absolutely loved performing it for parents and carers who were unable to see it on the night, as well as for our school community.
Did you notice a fun theme among some of our staff? Pirates were sailing through the halls, adding an extra layer of excitement and adventure to the day! The enthusiasm and creativity on display truly showcased the importance of literacy and the magic of storytelling.
Thank you to everyone who made this special event so memorable!
See the gallery below.
Arrr you ready to see the best crew on deck?
Our staff sailed into fun day dressed as pirates, proving we’re treasure trove of talent and teamwork

Breaking Stereotypes: Year 5 Students Tackle Gender Bias Through ‘August and Jones’ Novel Study
Year 5 students are studying a novel, ‘August and Jones’ by Pip Harry. One theme that is woven throughout the text is the danger of stereotyping people based on gender.
Year 5 investigated this last week as it linked perfectly with ‘The National Week of Action Against Bullying’. Students had a very strong understanding of this concept and recognised the negative impact Stereotyping can have on people.
We look forward to completing our novel study and hope that the characters, August and Jones, are able to overcome these stereotypes and are accepted by their family and peers for who they are.

Principal morning tea
This week, we celebrated our amazing students who were fortunate enough to have their names drawn from the letterbox for Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).
These deserving students showcased outstanding behaviour and a commitment to our school values. During the event, we recognised their efforts and achievements, highlighting the importance of creating a positive and supportive school environment.
I look forward to many more morning teas with students this term as we continue to celebrate their accomplishments!
