NAIDOC Week 2025 School Art Competition
I am thrilled to announce that Reuben M has won 1st Prize in the NAIDOC Week 2025 School Art Competition for his year group (Yr5 - Yr6). Reuben's stunning entry will be showcased at The Rocks Discovery Museum and featured on their website from July 1 to July 31, 2025, in celebration of NAIDOC Week (July 6-13). The winners were chosen by a panel from Student Learning Adventures, The Rocks Discovery Museum, and an Aboriginal community representative. A big thank you to Miss El for coordinating this wonderful initiative across our school, and to all our teachers for their invaluable support! When Miss El and I spoke with Reuben this morning and shared the good news with him, Reuben reported that he was very much in shock, and that he was so proud of himself for making this artwork the best it could possibly be.
Principal’s Morning Tea
Yesterday, I had the privlidge of hosting a delightful morning tea to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and positive learning behaviours exhibited by our students. This event provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, enjoy engaging conversations, and reflect on the successes we have achieved over the term. It is always a highlight of my week to spend time with our students and witness their enthusiasm and growth.
Thank You to our P&C
On behalf of the GRPS teachers and students, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere gratitude to our exceptional P&C Association for their generous support in acquiring new IT equipment for our school. Their contributions have enabled us to enhance our resources with additional laptops, significantly improving our students' learning experiences and equipping them with the necessary technology to thrive in today's digital landscape. We expect these laptops to be in classrooms within the next fortnight.
At the last P&C meeting earlier this term, the P&C passed a motion to allocate a significant amount of funding towards upgrading our student laptops. This dedication not only enriches our students' educational journeys but also exemplifies the strength of community collaboration. We are appreciative of their ongoing support and enthusiasm in our collective effort to foster a better learning environment.
Thank you once again to the P&C for your generosity and steadfast commitment to our school. Together, we are positively impacting our students' futures.

Foosball Table in Trouble!
Our well-loved foosball table is on its last legs—literally! Despite Mark D’s valiant repair efforts (see photo), it’s clear we may need to start looking for a replacement or calling in some handy reinforcements.
If any parents know where we might find a new foosball (or similar) game, or better yet, have advice on how we can rescue the one we’ve got, we’d love to hear from you!
