This week we bid farewell to Bob, our General Assistant, who has retired after many years of dedicated service to GRPS. Bob has been an integral part of our school community, contributing tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our school environment is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
We sincerely thank Bob for his commitment, hard work, and the positive impact he has had on our students, staff, and families throughout his time at GRPS. His friendly presence and willingness to help will be greatly missed by all.
Please join me in wishing Bob a happy and fulfiling retirement. We are truly grateful for everything he has done for our school community.
School Counsellor & School Psychologist Recognition Day – Friday 7/11This year, School Counsellor and School Psychologist Recognition Day falls on Friday, 7 November 2025. The theme, "Together, We Grow," celebrates the vital role that school counsellors and psychologists play in fostering growth — not only within our students but throughout our entire school community and the profession itself.
The theme emphasises the importance of strong therapeutic relationships, collaboration with colleagues and supervisors, and the personal and professional strengths that nurture resilience, connection, and ongoing development.
We would like to sincerely thank Del and Felicity for their unwavering dedication, time, and effort in supporting the wellbeing and growth of everyone at Glenmore Road Public School. Your commitment makes a real difference in our community, and we are deeply grateful.
Together, we grow stronger!
Crossing Supervisor Position AvailableI would like to inform our community that an external position for a Crossing Supervisor on Gurner Street is currently open. This important role helps ensure the safety of our students as they cross busy roads each day.
If you or someone you know is interested, please see the ad in Community Notices for application details and contact information.
Thank you for supporting the safety of our school community!
Exciting News: Glenmore Road Public School Joins Greening Australia’s ‘Cooling the Schools’ Program – Volunteers Needed
Exciting news! Glenmore Road Public School has been selected for Greening Australia's 'Cooling the Schools' program. Next Monday we'll be planting native trees and shrubs across our school grounds to create more shade, support local wildlife, and give our students greener, healthier spaces to learn and play.
We need volunteer helpers! Join us next Monday from 8am – 1pm to help our students plant trees. Whether you can spare an hour or the half day, every pair of hands makes a difference. Please note, prior to 9am, student volunteers will require a parent/carer to accompany them.
This free program, delivered in partnership with the NSW Department of Education, will provide all materials, equipment, and expert guidance on the day. Our students will participate in a special syllabus-linked lesson while learning hands-on about environmental stewardship.
Can you help? Please register your interest with Brooke Swartz via WhatsApp +61426018076 or email brookieswartz@gmail.com. No gardening experience necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to dig in! BYO gloves and hat!

Hat Reminder
As the weather warms up and UV levels rise, let’s stay sun safe! Please remember to pack a hat for your child.
Until Next Year, Halloween!
Thank you to everyone who popped by The Cottage to say Hello and Happy Halloween on Friday! It was an honour to be able to take part in this little day of community fun.
We look forward to seeing everybody’s costumes next year!
XAP Feedback
We are currently looking at alternative childcare management systems as we would really love to be able to share photos, videos and observations of your children and what they get up to at Cottage, with you. This will give you more visibility into what we do day-to-day and continue making the Cottage as child safe as possible.
We also want to make sure that the platform we use at Cottage is easy for families to navigate, make bookings, mark your child absent, pay fees etc.
Please feel free to share your comments or feedback about Xap and any suggestions you may have to our email admin@thecottageoshc.org.
We very much value your input and want to make sure all families voices are heard when it comes to a big change like this.
