From The Principal
Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers
On behalf of the Glenmore Road Public School community, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who volunteered their time last Sunday. Your dedication and hard work have made a significant difference in our school grounds.
I would like to acknowledge that a lot of preparation was needed behind the scenes to ensure that families made the most effective use of time together on the day, and we are thrilled with the remarkable improvements that have resulted from your efforts. Both teachers and students are so grateful for your commitment and support and we look forward to more collaborative efforts in the future!
Celebrating Our Kindy Writers
Today I met with some Kindy students who excitedly showed me their writing samples focused on animals. The level of writing and detail included in their work was nothing short of incredible! It’s heartwarming to see our young learners express their creativity and knowledge so vividly. Each piece showcased their unique perspectives and love for animals, and highlights the amazing progress they are making in their writing skills. I couldn’t be more proud of our Kindy stars and look forward to seeing more of their fantastic work in the future!
Exciting HPGE Opportunities Across the School
As Term 2 progresses we are thrilled to share that multiple high potential and gifted education (HPGE) opportunities are taking place throughout our K-6 school community. These enriching experiences include poetry groups, art sessions, and maths activities, as well as social and emotional learning focused on real-life situations.
Our staff is continuously reviewing and seeking additional ways to engage our students and foster their talents. One exciting new opportunity on the horizon is the Metropolitan South and Metropolitan South & West Public Speaking Competition.
This competition is conducted in multiple divisions: Early Stage 1, Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3. Unlike the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition held earlier this year, this event allows students to choose topics outside the scope of the multicultural theme and includes participation from Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 students.
More information on this competition will follow in the coming weeks.
Wakakirri Rehearsals Update
This morning we had another successful Wakakirri rehearsal. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the students who arrived on time and engaged wholeheartedly in the process. Your enthusiasm and commitment is commendable. We are excited to announce that the stage crew will now be joining the performers at rehearsals as we continue to practice and polish our performance.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to the teachers for their dedication and effort in creating this wonderful opportunity for our students. We can’t wait to see everyone’s hard work come to life on stage!
Car Zone Procedures
Please be reminded of important Car Zone procedures that are required to keep our community safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
