Weekly Updates
Easter Hat & Pedlars Parade - Tuesday 8 April
Kindy – Year 2 Easter Hat Parade: Students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 will be having an Easter Hat Parade. The students will be making their hats at home and will bring them to school to wear on the day of the parade. The hats can be made from a wide range of materials. Discount stores, Spotlight and art and craft stores are a good starting point to find items. Please remember however this is some Easter fun, not a competition. Students can wear mufti on the day of the Easter Hat Parade.
Year 3 - Year 6 Pedlars Parade: Students in Years 3-6 will be having a Pedlars Parade. A Pedlars Parade is a traditional way of raising funds and having fun. The students make things to sell at school for Easter. They dress-up as a ‘pedlar’ and parade their goods and then sell them to each other. The money raised will go towards school resources. We encourage children to use creativity and initiative to make items such as individually wrapped treats, stationery supplies, small toys etc - about 6-8 is a good number. Please remember that we have a number of students with food allergies and therefore we ask you not to send in food products with nuts. Students can wear mufti on the day of the Pedlars Parade. If you do not want your child to participate in the Pedlars Parade please notify your child’s class teacher.Students from K-6 can bring money on the day (no more than $5 please) and purchase tickets to buy items from the Pedlars. Each item is sold for $1 or $2, as the Pedlars decide.
As part of our science and indigenous studies, the students of Stage 3 went on an excursion to the Australian Museum. In class groups we went to three exhibitions. Future Now, Burra and Sustainable Futures.
In the Future Now exhibition we learnt about what we could do to make our planet a better place and to help the stop of climate change.
In the Sustainable Futures we made wax and paint drawings on paper leaves, and made a Lego creation of a house with lots of greenery. We also played a game to do with animal tracks and ways to help plants grow faster and better.
Stage 3 loved going to the museum and learning all these wonderful things about the environment we live in.
Stage 1 - Science Fun - Living Things
Such excitement in our Science classroom this morning! All five Monarch caterpillars were in the process of turning into chrysalis. We now have to wait around ten days to see our beautiful Monarch butterflies! The students have been documenting this process and learning more about how these insects use their external features to survive. Next our Stick Insects arrive!

On Monday 3 March, Years 5 and 6 splashed in water, biked around courses, kayaked in rivers and had loads of fun. We had delicious sandwiches and pasta bolognese for our meals on the first day. To end the day we did night activities in the sports hall and we played lots of mini games which were lots of fun.
On the second day some groups tried archery tag, and made wonderful artworks using pieces of nature around us. For breakfast we had baked beans, eggs and cereal, for lunch we had beef burgers and for dinner we had butter chicken. For night activities we got into 9 groups and went around the hall doing different activities.
On the last day we finished up activities we didn't do yet and packed our bags ready to go. The bus ride was very long but we were excited to see our families.
