Welcome to Week 4. It is wonderful to report that as I move around the school I witness student learning in full swing. Our students are showing great enthusiasm and readiness to tackle new challenges, and eager to engage with their work and extracurricular activities. The collaborative spirit among students and the positive energy at GRPS is truly amazing. We look forward to building on this and continuing to support each student's academic and personal growth throughout the year.
Welcome to Mr Tim Wotherspoon
It is with great pleasure that I welcome Mr Tim Wotherspoon to GRPS. Mr Wotherspoon will be teaching Class 4W and leading Stage 2. His extensive experience across a range of settings will be a great asset to our school.
NAPLAN for Years 3 and 5
NAPLAN will commence for all Glenmore Road students in Years 3 and 5 on Wednesday 12 March. All assessments will be online except for Year 3 Writing which will be handwritten. Students will need to have non-wireless headphones as some parts of the test, such as spelling, have an audio component. Please ensure your child is on time for school during this period. If a student is absent for a scheduled assessment they may be able to make it up on another day, providing it is within the test window.
The schedule for assessment will be in next week's newsletter.

Anaphylaxis and Allergies Reminder
At Glenmore Road Public School we have several students who have allergies, some that are life threatening and can result in anaphylaxis. We ask that students do not share their food with others at any time.
If parents are making a purchase from our external lunch provider, we also request that these purchases are made for your child only. Please remind your family members of the importance of not sharing food at school or in the morning or afternoon with students who are not in your care. By following these guidelines, we aim to provide a safe and happy environment for all our students and families.
OC and Selective applications
Just a reminder that OC & Selective placement applications close on Friday 21 February. All relevant information and support is on the Department of Education's website.
