Kindergarten Scientists in Action: Exploring Forces with Fun and Creativity
This week, our Kindergarten students embarked on an exciting journey into the world of forces, exploring the concepts of push and pull. They demonstrated wonderful creativity as they designed paper plate marble runs, experimenting with slopes and speed to see how the marbles would travel. Using pop sticks, they built their own catapults, joyfully launching pom poms across the room. It was inspiring to witness the laughter and excitement that filled the classroom as our youngest learners discovered the wonders of science through hands-on, playful experiences. Their enthusiasm and curiosity truly embody the joy of learning.
Journey of Courage: A Year 5 Student’s Inspiring Reflection on Migration and Resilience
I am incredibly proud to share the remarkable reflection written by one of our Year 5 students' Andrey, who bravely recounted his experience of migrating to Australia. This piece captures not only the challenges he faced but also the strength and resilience he demonstrated in overcoming them. His thoughtful reflection offers valuable insights into personal growth and the lessons he learned through navigating change. It is inspiring to see such maturity and self-awareness at this young age. This work embodies the spirit of perseverance and determination we celebrate in our school community. Well done!

Glenmore Gems netball finals report by Mai VDW - Senior A
On Saturday the 20th of September at 7:20 in the morning the game against the McAuley Hearts started. We had won against them once before, but we had also lost once as well. At the end of the first quarter we were down by 4 goals but we kept trying, but at halftime we were down by 5. Our coach Maddy came and hyped us up to keep trying and not give up. Another quarter passed and the score was 19-25, but in the last quarter we stepped up and kept shooting goals with the help of all our players on the court and cheerleaders and subs on the sidelines.
At the end of the game we knew we had won, we were so excited that we did it and that we won by 5 after being down by 6. All of the parents were so proud that we beat them when we were down by so much. After the game the team went to the trophy ceremony and were awarded with the big shiny trophy and little individual ones. We felt so proud when we were standing in front of a big sign, holding up the big shiny trophy like winners. We’ll soon look back on this and be proud that we won the year 6 division B grand final!
The Year 2 Glenmore Glitterbombs won their first ever game. The team consists of Nancy, Cordelia, Darci, Zoe, Darcy, Aria, Elke, Teddy, Alira, Lola, Georgie and Meg. They played Holy Cross and won with the score of 3-1. In the words of Zoe, one of the players “It was really cool to win our first game", and Darcy quoted “It was really exciting and fun". We are really proud of the Year 2 Glitterbombs and hope that they can build skill and win their own grand final some day.
This is an easy way to contribute to the school community with clear responsibilities set out over only part of the school year, and plenty of knowledge in the parent community to help out! Don’t forget you’ll have the netball disco every year to celebrate.
