Battle of the Best: Premier’s Spelling Bee Regional Final!
I am thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our school representatives who participated in the Premier’s Spelling Bee regional final via Zoom. Their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm truly shone through as they competed with confidence and resilience. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school with excellence.
Congratulations to Kyle (Junior) and Ryker (Senior) for reaching this impressive milestone!
Kyle competed against students from 30 other schools and made it to the third round. He finished tied for eleventh place. The winning word was ‘intermittent.’ Some of the exciting words Kyle faced included hypocrisy, subterfuge, rehabilitate, bountiful, accredit, empathetic, opulent, and glossary.
Ryker competed against students from 29 other schools and reached the fourth round. He finished tied for eighth place. The winning word was ‘zoological.’ Other challenging words he encountered included acupuncture, espionage, meticulous, boisterous, and malleable.
We commend both Kyle and Ryker for their impressive performances and the pride they brought to our school community. Well done!
Striking Gold: Noah’s Brilliant Aussie Gold Rush Model Shines Bright
I am proud to commend Noah for his exceptional Gold Rush project, in which he designed and made a detailed model of a scene from the Australian Gold Rush. Using wood, plasticine, clay, and recycled materials, Noah created an impressive replica mine complete with chunks of gold.
His creativity, resourcefulness, and attention to environmental sustainability truly brought the project to life. Noah’s dedication and enthusiasm are a wonderful example of learning in action. Well done, Noah – we are very proud of your fantastic achievement!
Joseph Blazes Ahead: New 1500m Record Shattered at Zone Athletics
I am thrilled to celebrate Joseph’s outstanding achievement at today’s Zone Athletics Carnival! Joseph broke the long-standing 1500m record, finishing an impressive 11 seconds faster than the previous time of 5:14. His dedication, determination, and athletic skill have truly set a new standard for our school. Congratulations, Joseph – we are incredibly proud of your fantastic performance!

P&C Plant Donations
The P&C are seeking donations from the GRPS community to purchase plants. We want to green up our school grounds at the next Working Bee on Sunday 14th September.
There are several garden beds and empty planter boxes that could easily be transformed with more plants and a bit of love. Not only do we need some more plants, we also need fertiliser and quality topsoil for all our garden spaces.
Spring is the perfect time to get busy in the garden. So, if you can help out by donating some money and/or your time (on 14th Sept) it would be greatly appreciated.
Every donation helps! Please donate here: https://events.humanitix.com/help-the-p-and-c-buy-more-plants-for-our-school-grounds
Thank you in advance for your support of the P&C.
Larissa Maher, GRPS P&C President
