A Week of Wonder: Spotlight on Our Talented Stars!
What an extraordinary week it has been at our school! I am filled with pride as I reflect on the incredible creativity and talent showcased by our students during our recent events.
Last Thursday, our students took to the stage at NIDA for Wakakirri, where over 100 performers dazzled the audience with their passion and energy. Their outstanding performances were a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the vibrant spirit of our school community. A special shoutout goes to Mrs Klein, Ms Seymour and Ms Andersen, who have completed 15 Wakakirri performances together—what an amazing milestone!
Join us for the school performance on Thursday 21 August at 11 AM
Just yesterday, we were equally thrilled to see our senior choir and string ensemble grace the stage at the Enmore Theatre. Their musical talents filled the venue with joy and left a lasting impression on all who attended.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to our wonderful parents for their unwavering support. Your contributions in helping with costumes, hair and make-up, and transporting students to these venues after hours have made a significant difference.
A special mention must also go to our dedicated staff, teachers, and Justin our Creative Director, who continually go above and beyond to nurture our students' talents. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a committed team guiding our young performers.
As we celebrate these remarkable achievements, let’s keep fostering the creativity and passion that make our school a vibrant place for learning and growth.
Enjoy the photos below; while they capture some of the magic, they truly don’t do justice to the incredible experiences we’ve shared.
Exploring the World Through Astro's Eyes
I wanted to take a moment to share how delightful it was to sit down with Astro as he shared his travel journal with me. His adventures through South America, Green Island, and Hawaii were nothing short of inspiring!
Astro's vivid descriptions and captivating stories brought each destination to life, making me feel as if I were right there alongside him. It’s wonderful to see our students embracing the world around them and sharing their experiences with such enthusiasm.
Thank you Astro, for giving me a glimpse into your travels—your passion for exploration is a reminder of the beauty and diversity that our world offers.
A Friendly Reminder: Student Supervision After School Hours
As we continue to foster a safe and supportive environment for our students, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of supervision after the school bell rings.
Please remember that students must be supervised by their parents or caregivers once school is dismissed. If your child is attending an extracurricular activity that begins at 4:00 PM or any other time after 3:30 PM, it’s essential that they are not left unsupervised in the school grounds before the activity starts. Ensuring that our students are safely supervised helps us maintain a positive and secure environment for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.

Mark Your Calendars: Grandparents' Day Celebration
We are excited to announce that our annual Grandparents Day celebration will be held on Monday 27 October! This special day is dedicated to honouring the cherished role grandparents play in our students' lives and in our community.
We understand that a lot of planning and preparation goes into making this day memorable. Therefore, we wanted to give you ample notice to mark your calendars and make any necessary arrangements. More details about the day's activities and how you can be involved will be shared in the coming weeks.
We look forward to celebrating with all the wonderful grandparents and creating lasting memories together!
ICAS Update: Rising to the Challenge and Soaring to Success
The ICAS assessments have proven to be a successful initiative in evaluating students' capabilities and knowledge in various subjects. We have hit the half way mark! Congratulations to those students who have already completed the Writing, Digital Technologies, and English assessments with students demonstrating their skills and engagement in these critical areas.
Upcoming assessments in Science on Monday 18 August, Spelling on Tuesday 19 August, and Mathematics on Monday 25 August, all scheduled for 8:15 am in the 4W classroom. These assessments will provide further insights into students' academic performance and help identify areas for growth. Students are encouraged to approach these assessments with confidence, as they represent an opportunity to showcase their learning achievements.

All Welcome
The P&C are seeking donations from the GRPS community to purchase plants. We want to green up our school grounds at the next Working Bee on Sunday 14th September.
There are several garden beds and empty planter boxes that could easily be transformed with more plants and a bit of love. Not only do we need some more plants, we also need fertiliser and quality topsoil for all our garden spaces.
Spring is the perfect time to get busy in the garden. So, if you can help out by donating some money and/or your time (on 14th Sept) it would be greatly appreciated.
Every donation helps! Please donate here: https://events.humanitix.com/help-the-p-and-c-buy-more-plants-for-our-school-grounds
Thank you in advance for your support of the P&C.
