Igniting Our Potential: Celebrating Education Week Together!
Today, we came together to celebrate Education Week, embracing the inspiring theme of "Ignite Your Potential." It was an amazing morning filled with open classrooms, allowing parents and community members to witness firsthand the incredible learning taking place at our school. The performances on the top playground showcased the remarkable talents of our students and highlighted the vibrant culture of creativity and collaboration we foster here.

I would like to extend a special shout-out to all our dedicated teachers and staff. Your unwavering commitment and passion for education are what truly ignite the potential in our students. Thank you for all that you do to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Together, we are shaping the future and empowering our students to reach new heights!

Principal Morning Tea
Last week, we celebrated our amazing students who were fortunate enough to have their names drawn from the letterbox for Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). These deserving students showcased outstanding behaviour and a commitment to our school values. During the event, we recognised their efforts and achievements, highlighting the importance of creating a positive and supportive school environment. I look forward to many more morning teas with students this term as we continue to celebrate their accomplishments!

Ready to Shine: Best of Luck to Our Wakakirri Stars
As we gear up for tomorrow evening's Wakakirri performances, we want to extend our heartfelt wishes to all our talented students! Your dedication, creativity, and teamwork have been truly inspiring throughout this journey. Each rehearsal has showcased your hard work, and we are so proud of what you have accomplished together.

We also want to express our immense gratitude to all the staff and parents who have played a vital role in supporting our students. Your encouragement, guidance, and countless hours of effort have made a significant impact, and we couldn’t have reached this momentous occasion without you.

A reminder that Thursday will be a normal school day for all other students, so it's business as usual while our Wakakirri performers prepare to shine. We invite parents and carers who missed out on tickets to the event to join us for a special viewing of the performance at school on the morning of Thursday, August 21, combined with our Book Week Parade.

We can't wait to see our students light up the stage and share their incredible stories with the audience. Let's make tomorrow night a memorable celebration of talent and teamwork. Break a leg, everyone!

Safety First: Smooth Sailing at Kiss and Drop
As we continue to prioritise the safety and well-being of our students during drop-off and pick-up times, we kindly ask for your cooperation with our afternoon Kiss and Drop procedures. To ensure a smooth and efficient flow of traffic, we encourage all parents and carers to remain in their vehicles while dropping off or picking up your children. This small action can make a big difference in maintaining a safe environment for everyone.

Additionally, we would like to remind you to avoid making three-point turns in the middle of the road, particularly on the crest of the hill. This practice can create dangerous situations for our students and other drivers.

Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our school community safe. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Each week, we shape our programs around the evolving interests and needs of the children. At The Cottage, we’ve been actively listening to their ideas about how they’d like to spend their time and use the space - and we’re just as keen to hear from families too! A feedback form is available at our Kiosk, and we warmly invite all parents to share any suggestions or thoughts.
