Walk Safely to School Day
Last Friday our school community came together to celebrate Walk Safely to School Day, and what a fantastic turnout it was! Students, families, and staff embraced the opportunity to walk to school, promoting not only physical activity but also the importance of reducing traffic congestion and pollution around our school.
To make the day even more special, we provided delicious fruit and fun temporary tattoos for our students. The atmosphere was electric as the children delighted in their healthy snacks and decorated themselves with colourful designs.
We were also thrilled to have Sergeant Fenton from Paddington Police Station join us. He took the time to speak with our K-2 students about the importance of road safety and being aware of surroundings while walking to school. His insights were invaluable and greatly appreciated by all.
Walk Safely to School Day serves as a reminder of the benefits of walking, not just for our health but also for our environment. It encourages students to adopt active habits, fostering a sense of community and safety.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a memorable one! We look forward to more opportunities to walk together in the future.
Zone Cross Country
Our students represented our school with immense pride at the Zone Cross Country event today! Not only did they showcase their athletic abilities, but our school was also acknowledged for its outstanding sportsmanship. I invite you to check out the sports report below to celebrate some wonderful individual and team accomplishments. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers, Mrs. Zoe Southwell-Keely, Ms. Kristie Noble, and Ms. Mel Crane, for their time and commitment to supporting our students. Your efforts are truly appreciated!

Using their knowledge, Knox and Xavier composed outstanding P.E.E.L (Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link) paragraphs that supported their opinions as to why they believe tourists should be able to visit the island!

Working Bee
Volunteers needed for our School Working Bee!
When: Sunday 1 June, 9am - noon
The P&C are organising our first GRPS Working Bee for the year, and we need your help in making our school a cleaner and more welcoming place.
Whether you can lend a hand for an hour or the whole time, every bit of help will make a difference. Volunteer for one or several tasks. Tasks include picking up litter, cleaning, light gardening, lots of weeding, sanding & painting, and general repair of spaces - fences, building walls, etc.
We will have some supplies on hand. However we do ask that you bring any tools or gardening supplies you may have (gloves, pressure washers, paint brushes, electric sanders, drills and screwdriver sets etc.). More details will be provided on what is needed to complete the jobs list closer to the date.
If you're available to help us, please volunteer here: http://volunteersignup.org/YTPKB
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us create a better environment for our kids!
Wanting to offload that old piano or sofa? Do you wish to notify parents of a not-for-profit community event? Do you want to acknowledge your child’s Saturday sport’s achievements? These items can now be included in the Glenmore Community Notices. Notices must be received by 4pm Monday of each week for inclusion in Wednesday’s Community Notices. Unfortunately we cannot advertise any for-profit businesses in our community notices. Email sarah.morrison11@det.nsw.edu.au for more information.
