School Tour with Student Leaders - Please RSVP
9:45 AM - 10:15 AM |
I am excited to share some wonderful achievements from our Year 4 students in their literacy program! Recently, they have been diving into the world of poetry while exploring the captivating book Bindi by Kirli Saunders.
Our talented Year 4 poets (Becker, Darcy, Eve, Frank, George, Lucy H., Lucy M., Luna and Molly) have been using their five senses to brainstorm a rich vocabulary, allowing them to craft unique pieces of poetry inspired by either the city or the country. They have skillfully incorporated various poetic devices to engage their readers and enhance their writing.
The result? A remarkable collection of poems that truly transport the reader to their chosen setting, filled with vivid imagery that makes one feel as though they are living and breathing in that environment.
I am incredibly proud of their creativity and hard work.
Semester 1 Reports
I am pleased to announce that Semester 1 reports have been published on the School Bytes app. These reports provide valuable insights into your child's progress and achievements over the past semester. I encourage you to take the time to review the feedback and celebrate your child's successes, as well as identify areas for further growth. Within the app, click on ‘resources’; and then under the ‘academic report’ heading, you will see ‘2025 - Semester 1’.
A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers for their hard work and commitment in preparing these reports and supporting our students throughout the semester.
If you have any questions about the reports or would like to discuss them further, please reach out to your child's teacher. Thank you for your continued support in your child's education!

We appreciate their commitment to helping enhance our school environment. Principal Morning Tea
I am delighted to share that yesterday we had a tremendous turnout for our Principal's Morning Tea! It was wonderful to see so many of our students come together to foster our school community.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend a special well done to the students who consistently display our school values. These students were fortunate enough to have their names picked from the letterbox during our recent assemblies. Your dedication to upholding our values is truly commendable!
Farewell Ms Clerkin & Welcome Ms Moore
As we bid farewell to Rachel Clerkin, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for her invaluable contributions to GRPS during her time with us. Rachel has been a dedicated member of our team, always bringing enthusiasm and a positive spirit to our school community. Her commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment has made a lasting impact on both staff and students. While we will miss her presence, we wish her all the best as she returns to Ireland to embark on a new chapter in her life.
At the same time, we are excited to welcome Sarah Jane Moore to our team. With over 30 years of teaching experience and a PhD in Reconciliation through Music and Art, Ms. Moore brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our school. Her passion for Creative Arts and her prior experience as a casual teacher at GRPS for over three years make her an excellent addition to our community. We look forward to the positive influence she will undoubtedly have on our students and staff!
Thank you, Rachel, for everything you have done for GRPS, and welcome, Sarah Jane!
P&C Athletics Carnival BBQ - Thursday 24 July
I am pleased to share that our P&C is organising a lunch for every student during the upcoming Athletics Carnival. This event promises to be a wonderful day of community spirit and friendly competition! I would like to highlight a few important points regarding the lunch arrangements:
- Lunch for Every Student: The P&C is dedicated to ensuring that all students have a tasty lunch provided on the day of the Athletics Carnival.
- No Lunchbots Orders: Please note that Lunchbots orders will not be available on the day of the event, so it’s essential to plan accordingly.
- Preorder Lunch: I encourage all parents to preorder their child's lunch via the provided link. Ideally, please complete your orders by the end of this term to ensure we have everything organised smoothly.
Gratitude for Our Green Champions: Thank You, Aleesha and Volunteers!
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our P&C Environment Leader, Aleesha, and her dedicated army of volunteers for their tremendous effort in moving the pile of mulch to the rainforest. Their hard work and commitment to enhancing our school’s natural environment is inspiring and makes a significant difference to our community. Thank you again to Aleesha and your team for your invaluable contributions and for helping us create a greener, more sustainable school!
Swing Back into Fun: The Rainforest Monkey Bars Are Open
Exciting news for our students! We are thrilled to announce that the rainforest monkey bars have officially reopened! Recently, we made some adjustments to the monkey bars and have added certified mulch to ensure a safe and enjoyable play experience. We encourage all our students to swing, climb, and explore the fun of the monkey bars once again. Get ready to enjoy some active playtime!
Honouring Our Heritage: Vote for the Acknowledgement of Country Sign Design
I am excited to share that the P&C has generously agreed to fund the installation of an Acknowledgement of Country sign at our school, which will be placed near the front office. This important sign will serve to recognise and respect the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school stands.
To ensure that the sign reflects our community's values and preferences, we have created four design options for your consideration. We invite you to view each design and cast your vote for your favourite. Additionally, we welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have to enhance this initiative.
Thank you for your participation and support in fostering a meaningful connection with our local Indigenous heritage.
